Over the rainbow.

As I previously posted I was given a project in university to create a modular world using a pill, a square, a triangle, a circle only, in whatever size and as many times as I liked.  I have already showing you the characters that I created and the text that I created.  The final part of the project was to create the world or environment.  I went down the road of a stay green campaign and created a lot of  plants and flowers.  I experimented with colour by overlapping the circles.  Instead of just overlaying the colour in each circle, I decided to break them up and colour in every single individual segment as I thought it made a better impact visually when it came to colours.  Unfortunately it meant that each little design took hours as I had to colour in every individual segment, the rainbow alone took five hours to create.  It was all totally worth it, I was so pleased with the outcome, here are some of the many designs I came up with:

rainbow

This rainbow was completely made up out of hundreds of circles, I love how it turned out, it looks like stained glass as if the colours are glistening in the sun.

flower

This flower took a lot of time to create.  I wanted to make it more like an illustration than a piece crafted on a computer so I made it more scrappy in appearance than the rest of my designs and I think that that is its appeal, it all flows so beautifully and the colours really set it off.

The sunflower I created in the same style as the rainbow and it really pops too, it is also like stain glass, it is very clean, and fresh very straight and geometric.

character-ideas

I decided then to finally experiment with incorporating the character element into the environment element and see if I could marry the two.  I decided to create this cute cloud shape design, and I experimented with overlay, colour and size and I really love the overlapping style it really makes it pop it is beautiful.
